Affiliate Program Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OceanEsim ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of affiliates ("you") who apply to or participate in the OceanEsim Affiliate Program (the "Program"). It should be read together with the OceanEsim Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data

OceanEsim, based in Hong Kong, is responsible for your personal information under this Policy. We handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide: your name, email address, country or region, website and social media accounts, promotional channels, Wise or bank account details for payouts, any identity or verification documents we request, and any messages you send us.

2.2 Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, login activity, and the date and time you accepted our Terms and Conditions.

2.3 Program activity: clicks on your Referral Link, orders and order values attributed to you, Coupon Code usage, commissions, and payouts.

2.4 We do not share the personal information of OceanEsim customers with affiliates. Your Dashboard shows only order-level data needed to track your commissions.

2.5 Emails we send you may contain tracking pixels that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. We use this to improve our communications.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

(a) review your application and manage your account;

(b) track referrals and calculate and pay commissions;

(c) communicate with you about the Program, including policy updates and promotional materials;

(d) verify your identity and your compliance with our Terms and Conditions;

(e) detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and abuse;

(f) keep records required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

(a) Service providers that help us run the Program, including our affiliate tracking platform (GoAffPro), our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our payout provider (Wise), and our email service providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us;

(b) Payment processors, banks, and other businesses where necessary to prevent or investigate fraud;

(c) Law enforcement, regulators, or courts where required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety;

(d) A buyer or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business;

(e) Business partners, in aggregated or anonymized form only, such as overall Program performance statistics that cannot identify you.

5. International Transfers

Our service providers may store and process your information outside Hong Kong, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and other countries. By participating in the Program, you consent to such transfers. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

6. Cookies

6.1 The affiliate Dashboard uses cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences.

6.2 When a visitor clicks your Referral Link, a tracking cookie is placed on their browser by oceanesim.com for 7 days so that qualifying orders can be attributed to you.

6.3 You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Dashboard may not work properly.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for up to seven (7) years after it is closed, to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to handle any disputes. After that, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you by email without undue delay, unless delaying notice is required by law enforcement.

9. Your Rights

9.1 You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9.2 You may request deletion of your account. We will delete your information except where we are required to keep it under Section 7.

9.3 You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link in the email. We will still send you essential messages about your account, commissions, and policy changes.

10. Age Requirement

The Program is open only to individuals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page or notified to you by email. Your continued participation in the Program after that constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
